The podcast network grew to become the success that it is today with Mac G and Sol Phenduka giving themselves a round of applause for building from the ground up. They have been cancelled for the longest time now but they are still standing strong. Thanks to their growing numbers, quality content and loyal viewers.
For 2022, they want to host a lot of brunches around the country and visit almost all the popular cities.
Chillers are excited for Monday 10 January, as that is when the first episode will air. Here are some of their comments:
dlm6345: "7 more days! We look forward to having you back guys! I specifically look forward to hearing your comments on the slick talk smack down."
mfundotshona: "Podcast and chill is our therapy."
champurumakhenzo: "LAND YALL!!! Mondays are never the same."
en_es_tee: "More than ready gents, we've missed you."
artistiksouldj: "Cannot wait for you guys to come back. Some of us were indoors almost the whole of this festive."
The first time the show landed in trouble, was when they made transphobic comments about the LGBTQI community. They lost out on sponsorships and some support from other celebrities.
"Podcast & Chill is a very light platform that is filled with laughter and the intention is to always entertain, however this does not justify our conduct, our chillers and our clients and business partners," wrote the team in their apology.
"As people of influence we oath to be very careful on how we use the influence we have not to promote any kind of mistreatment and derogatory statements or slur to anyone regardless of their sexual orientation. We do take complete responsibility and accountability for being insensitive, ignorant and offensive.
“Out of this experience, we have been able to learn and educate ourselves about social issues and to know where we must draw the line from what is expressed as a joke and when a ‘joke’ infringes upon someone else’s freedom. As people we all learn from our mistakes and accept every kind of criticism, take accountability and use the situation as a lesson. "
The last time they came under fire was when they interviewed Jub Jub who triggered Amanda du-Pont to the point where she accused Jub Jub of rape. Instead of fighting Jub Jub, majority of the people came for MacG.
In a rant on his show, MacG said he is the poster boy for everything that is wrong in the country.
“If you don’t like what we’re saying, don’t tune in. There are people that like it” he said. “If it’s not for you, leave it. They have so much sh*t to say when they want us to be canceled, but when we are doing good things, nobody knows this platform.”
Mac G then took aim at the IT girls, Minnie and Thando 'Thabooty' Thabethe who gang up on him, “These ‘it girls’ always say the same stuff every time they want us cancelled, and it’s because they have the most to hide. They don’t want such a platform to exist because they know they will get exposed”.

“Black Twitter is making politicians shake, but instead of doing good, they want to burn things down, and to destroy people’s bag.” He also called Black Twitter a toxic place where nobody is allowed to have an opinion of their own.
