Simphiwe Dana Is Ready For COVID-19 Vaccine

Come rain, sunshine or Chief Justice Mogoeng Mgoeng!

ZAlebs and South Africans at large were excited about the prospect that there has been a COVID-19 vaccine that has been discovered. And when it was discovered that the vaccine has a 95% success rate, everyone sighed one for relief.

But then, Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng took the mood and turned it all the way upside down when the viral video of him praying on the vaccine went viral. In his prayer, the Chief Justice makes it clear that he will only welcome the vaccine if it does not contain the spirit of the devil in it. And if there is nothing that South Africans love more than opposing is anything that goes against the “Word.”

Well, some South Africans and ZAlebs- except one of our favourite outspoken entertainers, Simphiwe Dana. The “Bamako” musician made it clear that if there is one thing she is not about to do is let that vaccine miss her. Initial reports had suggested that the vaccine was going to reach Africa only in 2021, but new reports suggest that it might be sooner. And one person that is definitely going to be in front of the line is Simphiwe Dana.
The outspoken star faced a little backlash for the shade she threw at the Chief Justice and utterances. Mostly from men because the good sis does not have such a great relationship with Twitter, black South African men for the shade she has previously thrown in their direction.  But Smphiwe did not skip a beat by being unapologetic about her stance.
Her biggest reason for advocating for the vaccine, Simphiwe has stated as having past experience with COVID-19. The first time she spoken on the matter, was the star revealing that she and her nuclear family inclusive of her two children, had contracted the virus.  And the reality of recovering from the virus has taught that she is willing to take anything to not have to go through it again.
Secondly, her mother had also contracted the virus. Her mother had contracted the virus when the retired nurse, abandoned her retirement and when back to the frontline due to the lack of healthcare practitioners there was at the height of the pandemic locally.

To date, many hospitals have still complained about the lack of hands that are available to take care of the ailing. Therefore, there is a need for the vaccine, even if it does have a little blood of the devil; who will know?
