CAF has officially named Senegal as the host country for the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations after the organization’s Executive Committee gave its approval.
CAF confirms Senegal as 2026 host
The Confederation of African Football announced the decision following endorsement from its Executive Committee, making Senegal the official venue for the next edition of the continent’s flagship beach soccer event.
Why CAF believes in Senegal
CAF’s ruling highlights a belief in Senegal’s ability to deliver a major tournament, drawing on the country’s strong track record in the sport.
- Senegal is described as having earned deep confidence from CAF due to its proven organizational capabilities.
- The country is also recognized for its historical dominance in beach soccer.
- Senegal is the most decorated nation in the tournament’s history, holding five continental titles.
- Those five crowns include wins in each of the last five editions.
Defending champions and what’s at stake
Senegal previously staged the competition successfully in 2021, when they also entered the tournament as the defending champions.
The 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations will bring together eight teams, with the event offering more than just the continental title. It will also serve as a qualification route for the 2027 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
