The drama which ensued afterwards lead to a lot of finger pointing from social media users who were not happy with Masechaba. Many even wondered if Masechaba knew what she was talking about until a shocking video of Mampintsha striking Babes on IG Live, went viral.
Cases were opened and court appearances were made, but now the couple withdrew those charges against each other and life moved on from there. Babes has opened up about the incident without speaking much about it though.
She told Sowetan that she has put the past behind her and will be focusing on her new life with Mampintsha, as a married couple and their son.
“Never be quiet about it (abuse), but also don't be afraid to keep the story clear so we can work on it the correct way. I'm happy in my relationship,” Babes told the publication.
The couple's reality show just recently premiered and it received a lukewarm reception from viewers. Partly because many have not moved on from the abuse ordeal.
On Uthando Lodumo, Mampintsha apologises to Babe's family for abusing her and her parents reprimanded him for that. He called it a mistake and revealed that they always have misunderstandings as a family and the abuse is the biggest cause of that.
His in-laws accepted his apology and thanked him for manning up. Mpintsho encourages men and women to not engage in the vile act of abusing their partners.
Babes is happy with her husband and in their marriage as she penned a sweet letter to him on IG appreciating the man in her life.
"If I were to start where we started off, I'd take the whole day. Mashimane we have had our challenges left right and center but hlezi sinqoba (we always win.) Engakusho (all I can say) I wouldn’t ask for any partner besides you. Ukuvezile (you showed) when a man commits to change kubanjalo the promise you have made namanje ngike ngihlale ngikubuke ngimangale ukuthi ngempela umuntu oka thixo. (I sit and just stare at you in awe and marvel over God's creation.)
"People see how you are excited about uspontshi (our son), they don't know how eargerly we waited for him. You are an amazing father who is 100% supportive and the love you give me shocks me everytime. Happy birthday Zikode mnyeni wami 2021 has brought 2 blessings(marrying the love of my life and giving birth to our little boy,” she wrote on IG.
