For a very long time now, Somhale's marriage had been scrutinized as they no longer appeared to be the lovely couple they started off as. Divorce rumours swirled and there were numerous speculations as to what caused their marital problems. Being the less wealthier one, Mohale caught heat with many accusing him if being a gold digger.

It was not until Mohale's infamous recording with former Living The Dream producer Legend Manqele, where shocking allegations of abuse came to light. Mohale was now seen as the victim in the whole "abusive" marriage which then saw Somizi getting elbowed by various companies he works with.
Mohale also released a statement, after his estranged husband released his, saying his agency sacked him as well. So both of them lost out on a few deals after the whole debacle started. The big question remains, who leaked the audio to the media?
Since the recording was done privately with Legend Manqele, he was outed as the obvious culprit. Speaking to TrueLove, Legend flatly denied being the one to leak the audio, saying he too was perplexed when he found out about it being leaked.
“I have no idea who would do something like this,” said the Bar Leader CEO, adding that he does not benefit from having the audio leaked. Legend then added that he had been accused of numerous things in his life, but this is below him.
“This is not how I do things, and I always try as best as I can to protect my peace. I was also shocked when I discovered that the recording had been leaked.”
Mohale had hoped he would be the one to release the audio when the time was right, or be the one to tell his story. But with it being leaked, he felt his right to do so was stripped away from him.
In the audio exclusively released by Sunday World, Mohale revealed that there were certain people Somizi did not want him to affiliate himself with. "It was mainly about work, the friends that I made which he didn't like," he said, adding The Fergusons were also part of the list Somizi did not want him to work with.
Mohale then revealed that there have been numerous physical fights they both got involved in. One of those fights he alleged that Somizi almost broke his teeth.
In another supposed physical fight, Somizi allegedly pulled out a knife and almost stabbed them both. "I took my keys and walked out, he took a knife. I was about to exit, so he said to me, ‘if you exit… I’m going to kill us both.’ So I took my keys and ran. He grabbed the knife and said ‘if you walk out, I’m going to stab you.’ Now I see a different person. I was sh*t scared and walked back into the house. He said ‘let’s talk.’ He cried and we moved on,” he told Legend.
