Thuso Mbedu is now a bona fide international A-list celebrity in any way you look at it. She is currently the cover star of magazine Brydie and Essence Magazine, along with her The Woman King co-stars. She is part of the biggest movie currently out in theatres The Woman King, which is set to arrive at South African theatres on Friday, 30 September 2022. And now, we assume that she has found love too, if her followers have anything to say about the matter.

Thuso Mbedu finds love in Hollywood, allegedly
It all started when he male co-star John Boyega was more than complimentary about Thuso during the promotional run for The Woman King. Boyega in the film plays one of only two prominent male main supporting roles as King Ghezo.
But it was with Boyega sharing a video of the two of them during their audience watching experience that started the dating rumours amongst South Africans. Taking to the comments section, more than one South African highlighted the chemistry between the two and asserted that they should just make things official.

Then Boyega took to Twitter later that week to confirm that he was on his way to South Africa. Obviously, taking one plus one and getting eleven is a South African pastime. Therefore, South Africans took to the comments section to begin asking the most important question of whether it is time for us to “thungisani’- getting our traditional outfits for the lobola negotiations ready.

Boyega seemed to avoid these comments, and was only pleased that there were warm comments asserting their readiness to meet him.
It was Mbedu who took slight offence from the comments. Not because of what they were suggesting, but because South Africans were airing out our dirty laundry by alerting Boyega about our little problem of loadshedding.

Who is John Boyega
If you are wondering if John Boyega is deserving of Mbedu, or who is he? Well IMDb states, “John Boyega is a British actor, known for playing Finn in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015). Boyega rose to prominence in his native United Kingdom for his role of Moses in the 2011 sci-fi comedy film Attack the Block (2011), before attaining international recognition for his work as Finn in the seventh film of the Star Wars series.”
Moreover, if you are wondering, if he is deserving of our very own Mbedu. Then it might be pleasing to hear that Boyega’s latest scandal has to do with his assertion on his dating preference. This is as he made headlines as he received backlash for asserting that he only dates black women.
A fact which asserts sentiments shared by Viola Davis on how Boyega did not need to be in The Woman King. But he took on the role as his name and star power could be used to have the film which was seven years in the making greenlit by the studio to have it made.
