Season 4 of Mzansi's favourite show saw the family going back to their roots. Of course the drama and the entertainment was dished on a silver platter. Which is why they sit comfortable at number one as the most watched on DSTV, and is amongst the top 10 overall shows on the satellite service.

Phil announced the good news today saying 613 000 people watched the show in April. "The show, is the number 1 reality show on DStv. With 613k viewers pulled for the show’s top episode in April, this made The Ranakas the 10th most watched program on DStv and the leading reality show across the platform," he tweeted.

The reality show has been praised for being 100% authentic and giving their viewers nothing but the best in entertainment. Kudos to you Ranaka family!

In other TV ratings news, it seems as though Date My Family, did not quiet hit the spot with viewers this season. The reason some are giving is because the show has lost it's true essence which is helping bachelors and bachelorettes with finding love.

Clout chasers stay coming on the show just for their 2 minutes of fame, making the show "mediocre"

Although every Sunday night, the show trends, lesser people are still sticking around to watch the hopefuls break bread with their potential dates' families. "The show is still a regular on trending lists but it’s losing viewers. In April it pulled 503k viewers, a drop from March’s 730k for most watched episode of the month. Knock down the peg from glory days of 900k viewers," reported Phil.
Still on the topic of TV, Generations: The Legacy viewers will be seeing their favourite villain Jack Mabaso for the final time today. According to Daily Sun, Vusi Kunene, the man behind Mzansi's favourite enemy, he has a special connection with the character as it is his most popular.

“I’ve always had a serious passion for Jack. He’s the most popular character I’ve ever played, and bringing him to life has been a pleasure,” said Vusi.

“I’m really going to miss everyone because Generations is like a family. It’s not one person’s work. It’s all our work. We all pull together and that’s what makes the show so special."
