Name a better duo than Cassper Nyovest and his McLaren GT. We bet you can’t, as he and his luxury car have been inseparable since he first announced that he had bought it for his birthday. But it looks like they will finally be separated after DRIP Footwear founder and director, Lekau Sehoana, talked about wrecking it.
It all started when Lekau tweeted Cassper asking to borrow his McLaren for a little while. He figured that since Cassper has been busy with the gym, he must not need it for a few hours or so.
For context, the rapper is training for one of the most anticipated boxing matches to come. He will be fighting Naak Musiq in April, and considering how much he has promised to moer Naak, he cannot afford to slack off right now.
Cass was a good sport about it and asked Lekau to show up and get the car. After all, what’s the point of having rich and famous friends if you can’t play with each other’s expensive toys, right?
Well, he went and got the car, and it was all good as Lekau took the ride, and tweeted shortly after, that he was grateful to Cassper for allowing him to borrow the car. This is when everything started going downhill.

Lekau tweeted asking for a tutorial on how to spin a McLaren like a Gusheshe (BMW 325i). To fully grasp the implications, you need to get the price differences. As of 2020, a brand new Gusheshe started at R899,000 before additions. In 2022, a brand new McLaren GT like Cassper’s goes for about R4.5 Million. Even if we were to adjust figures for the two year difference, the Gusheshe’s price would come nowhere near even half of the McLaren’s price.
Fast forward to three hours later, Lekau tweeted Cassper a picture of public transport, taken by someone in the back seat. He said he was on his way to Cass, and promised to explain when he got there, the implication being that something terrible had happened to the McLaren.
Cass obviously believes it’s a joke. That, or he doesn’t consider it that big of a deal, as he responded saying he knows that Lekau is good for it, so he is not worried at all.
The two are obviously playing around. I mean, Lekau wouldn’t actually total Cass’s McLaren, would he? And it must be nice to have friends so rich, you don’t get worried when they might have ruined your R4.5 Million prized baby. We know we would be having a heart attack if we were Cass.
The two are yet to share whether the car is actually damaged or not, but social media users have been having a field day with it anyway.
But their friendship is clearly deep and lovely enough to have such fun banter. We love to see it.
