Cassper Nyovest is known as one of the biggest rappers in the country but his sudden interest in Amapiano has left a sour taste in many music lovers mouths-especially Yanos fans. Cassper's latest single Siyathandana is not his first offering in the Amapiano scene. Although this single is his first, he has featured in many other Amapiano hits where he raps or sings his verses.
He has been applauded for showing his versatility however people are saying he is taking things too far by releasing his own singles in the genre. Apart from the many negative comments, the one where a tweep says he ruined the song by being involved in it caught his attention.
The tweep said, "Lmao Cassper ruined that Siyathandana song imo." Cassper hit back by saying he wrote the song and worked on it with Abidoza so the song is his. "Y'all do know that's my song right? Like I am not featured on the song, I wrote it. The melody that Boohle is singing was written by me. Like I made the song with Abidoza before Boohle blessed it & took it out the roof. Y'all pretending I asked to be on the song or I bought it. Lol."
In one of his previous tweets, Cass spoke about how versatile he is when it comes to music, "I dabble with a lot of sounds. Amapiano, Hip Hop, Afrobeats, Kwaito, Reggae, Jazz , Rnb , Soul etc. I touch everything...Doesn't mean I should limit myself. In a time when artists can't perform, making music is therapeutic. Why not share the music if you want to?”
In other Amapiano news, Maphorisa got more than he bargained for when he advised DJ Shimza, Heavy K and Black Coffee to also try out Amapiano. “I wish Shimza, Heavy K le Bo Black Coffee badlale amapiano (could play Amapiano). It will mean a lot for the movement ya amapiano,” he wrote on Facebook.
Heavy K replied with: “Me I can handle both House and Amapiano, Porry. It marks 10 years of Heavy K this year and I’ll be introducing my other production strong points. It’s necessary for me. To my day-one fans, I’ll never leave you behind but allow me to experiment.”
DJ Shimza replied by saying, “We can’t all do the same thing because we all have different goals and paths in our careers, ma brother. You guys are doing perfectly fine without us and it’s amazing to watch from the outside! Keep going! We here to support.”
