DJ Lamiez Holworthy has been hailed as one of Mzansi’s kindest and most generous celebrities, as she is constantly doing very nice things for total strangers. But even saints have their limit, and Lamiez has finally reached hers.
Taking to her Instagram stories, she has left a strong message for her followers who keep asking her for money. She said she has her own problems to deal with, and cannot keep sending money to strangers every time they ask.
The DJ has set a precedent of intervening when a story comes out of strangers struggling with different issues. She recently stepped in and offered to pay a helper’s one month salary after Giyani star Rami Chuene exposed her madam for her cruel treatment. The move touched the hearts of many across Mzansi, and Lamiez was immediately named one of the most generous celebrities.
She also made headlines for gifting a single mother and her son with a two-day, all expenses paid trip to the Blyde River Canyon in Mpumalanga.

But it seems that fans have been taking her kindness for granted, as now she has finally lashed out. She showed one side of her personality so much that Mzansi started to feel entitled to her hard earned money. In fact, she is often mentioned in conversations where people need financial assistance, even though she doesn’t know any of those people.
She is not the only one to notice a change of energy in the absence of free giveaways. There was recently a conversation on whether Master KG is relevant without his giveaways, as his social media engagement dropped dramatically when he stopped giving away money regularly.
The strangest part is that although she is widely considered one of the best celebrities, she is also always getting bullied online. She has been body shamed so many times that her fellow ZAlebs had to come out to stand with her.
It is probably time for Lamiez to show her spicy side, though. She has been too soft to people online, and now they are taking liberties with her like they know her. In a brave show of solidarity, she recently clapped back at tweeps bullying Uncle Waffles for her dressing, and we love to see one queen sticking up for another.
We can imagine that this move will not end well for the Dj, though. We don’t think fans will appreciate being called out on their entitlement. We just hope that Lamiez is ready for the backlash that may come with her statement, and that she sticks to her guns no matter how it plays out. It is her hard earned money, and she reserves the right to spend it however she wishes without being emotionally blackmailed to cough up cash for strangers every three days.
