Boity Thulo, Mzansi’s favourite TV personality, is many things, but weak minded is not one of them. She always stands by her convictions, whether people understand and agree with them or not. She often gets trolled for some of these opinions because they won’t always align with what’s considered “polite” or “acceptable”.
The most recent of these is when she trended all day recently for saying that, if she dates a man, she expects a girlfriend allowance of at least R450,000 per month. While entertained, Mzansi trashed her for it, as many men asked what exactly she brings to the table to make her think she deserves to be given so much money. It’s almost like everyone magically forgot that she has a lot of money herself, and the kind of person who would complain about that kind of money, is not who she is trying to attract.
Anyway, now Boity has shared with her followers the secret behind staying so calm despite being dragged mercilessly online. Posting on her Instagram stories, she shared a quote about how to maintain one’s inner peace regardless of what external stuff was going on. According to the rapper, the secret is realizing and accepting that one doesn’t and cannot have total control over all their life’s happenings, and leaning into the “helplessness” rather than trying to fight it and control things.
“You can’t control everything” the post read. “Sometimes you just need to relax and have faith that things will work out.”

Have a look at Boity’s secret for self-mastery below.

This is a great hack for those who struggle to deal with other people’s opinions of them. It is probably how Boity manages to keep away from petty arguments with strangers on the internet. It is also how she manages to stay focused on chasing the bag, as is evident from her social media presence, promoting her brand, BT Signature.
The brand of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The drinks retail for about R100 for a non-alcoholic four-pack, and R120 for the same number of alcoholic drinks. From every indication online, from the business website, to their social media pages, it seems to be doing well under the stewardship of the rapper. Her impeccable marketing skills definitely have a lot to do with it, as she regularly posts content for the brand on her social media, with millions of followers.
She was also recently in Namibia, where she no doubt had a wonderful time. Either way, it is clear that Boity is focused on making big money moves, and no amount of hating or trolling by faceless keyboard warriors is going to stop her. We love it for her!
