While Mzansi still mourns the sudden passing of Mampintsha a few days ago, ahead of his funeral there has been some light bulb moment. Truth be told, this yer alone Mzansi has lost a great deal of actors, musicians, artists and just ordinary people.

Evidently, the entertainment industry has been under a great black cloud soon after this year commenced. This year aloe as well as last year, the industry lost a great deal of talent and although they may be gone but they are never forgotten. For they made huge impacts on the industry as well as on their fans all across South Africa.

We Take A Moment To Look Back At Some Of The Industry Artistes Mzansi Have Lost Just This Year Alone (2022)

Exactly in July, singer and music producer Riky Rick passed on. Later on it was learned that the Sidlukotini hitmaker committed suicide at his home in Johannesburg, in the morning.  According to several sources, the musician ended his own life due to depression. Another source alleged that he hung himself with a rope and died on his way to the hospital.

Subsequently, his family later issued a statement confirming his death. Several celebrities including his friends and fans took to social media to convey their condolences messages and last respect to Riky Rick.

Another great loss for Mzansi's entertainment industry. TV and Radio Personality Kuli Roberts has reportedly passed away. According to Daily Sun, the former Kaya FM radio presenter died yesterday.  Kuli Roberts passed on at the age of 49

Another great loss was veteran actor Patrick Shai w.ho also passed away this year. A family spokesperson of the late actor, revealed to Channel 24 that he allegedly committed suicide.  In a statement that was released on social media, the family requested privacy,

"It is with great sadness to announce the passing of veteran actor Ntate Patrick Shai. He passed away in the early morning of the 22nd January, 2022" read the statement

Music industry was also engulfed with a great dark cloud following the passing of the Hip Hop DJ Dimplez. The DJ Dimplez whose real name is Tumi Mooi reportedly passed on today, 6 March. According to the family's statement, Dimplez suffered a sudden brain hemorrhage.

"We ask for your space and respect as we process Tumi's tragic passing. Thank you for your understanding," the Mooi family said in a statement.

DJ Sumbody, whose real name is Oupa Sefoka, also passed away just last month, November, 20th. Mzansi woken up to the news of his demise and tributes were already pouring in the Monate Mpolaye hitmaker. It was later revealed that, the DJ was shot and killed coming from a gig. His management also confirmed his passing in a statement that was already circulating on social media.

The acting industry lost another great veteran actor, Jamie Bartlett. Bartlett passed away in May and although details surrounding Jamie's cause of death have always been sketchy. However, his partner Rosa Onious revealed after receiving his autopsy results, that the former Rhythm City actor died of cardiac arrest, according to Channel 24
