Actor Nkanyiso Mchunu recently confirmed his exit from  Imbewu The Seed. The star reportedly left the show over salary issues.
Without getting into many details on his Facebook post, Nkanyiso revealed that he has decided to end his working relationship with the show adding, "I’d like to thank the production for the opportunity and platform to showcase what I can do. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this journey.”

According to City Press, Nkanyiso will be replaced by Generations: The Legacy star Kay Sibiya.
Nkanyiso is the fourth actor to recently exit Imbewo, and the publication claims that a source revealed that other staff members are also dumping the show.

"Everyone’s leaving the show – and they’re not only actors. Make-up people are also leaving, while support staff, including admin and media relations people, have left too,” City Press quoted a source.

Meanwhile, former Muvhango star Buhle Samuels also recently left the show. According to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, Buhle was let go because she and the production, "had different views on the character and story development. Production decided to let go of Buhle and recast the role."
A few months ago, City Press revealed that Phidile Gwala had been fired because of her work. At the time, popular actor Muzi Mthabela was also leaving the show.

"Phindile’s on-screen character was being struck off because of her craft competence. The producers have it that her talent is not what the showrunners expected out of her. However, it was revealed that the new producers were not very impressed, so they did not want to keep her," a source told the publication."

Commenting on their departure, Imbewu's spokesperson Thapelo Ramatsui said the pair wanted to explore other avenues.

“They are on a hiatus from the show … They want to explore other avenues, such as other work opportunities. Durban is quite a stretch, so if they want to pursue other interests in Johannesburg, we give them leeway to pursue other projects and possibly come back. We did not fire anyone,” he said.

Muzi Mthabela was one of the Isibaya Actors Who landed new roles as the show faced cancelation.

He penned a lengthy letter on Instagram thanking Isibaya cast members for their love and support.

"To every casting director whoever had faith in me isandla sedlula ikhanda. My fellow thespians (ezakwa Ndlovu) Bheki Mkhwane and Bhuti Bongani Gumede. For your contribution to my craft Ngiyabonga. A very special thanks to a brother that's special to me @sdumo.mtshali for ALWAYS pushing me To go further. Ngiyabonga. "Forget the Words and search for your truth" you would say."
