Boity Thulo
Boity first came to the spotlight when she was featured on a Wimpy advertisement. Clearly, her acting talent started early, as she was great in this ad. Could you even have recognised her from this?

Somizi Mhlongo
Like Boity, Somizi was born for acting. He started out as an actor in his childhood, when he was just 13 years old, and appeared in Scavengers, a 1987 movie.
He also acted in the hit 1992 political film Sarafina!, although you probably missed him in it. This is your chance to watch the movie again, and this time, try to spot Somizi.

Linda Mtoba
You may not believe it, but the actress is a certified teacher. She taught Isizulu at a school in KwaZulu-Natal, focussed on grades one to five. Her friends encouraged her to go to an audition after she had quit teaching to pursue her other passion, acting.
And aren't we all grateful for those friends? Because of their encouragement, we have been blessed with a magnificent actress and public figure.

Nadia Nakai
Bragga did not originally start out in the music industry. In fact, she has a degree in Marketing, Communication, and Media Studies, and worked at an advertising agency.
That was until she decided to try out her passion, rapping, a decision that worked out great for her. She has clearly also used her background in marketing to build a formidable brand, and we love it for her.

Zodwa Wabantu
Zodwa has one of the toughest and most inspiring backgrounds of all ZAlebs. Her mother died when she was young, and she was raised by her grandmother. But when she turned 16, the performer left home to make her own way in the world.
She had a stint as a debt collector, and it's not hard to picture her lecturing a defaulter on the phone. She also worked as a dancer in clubs, which is where she was spotted, and spurred her rise to fame and fortune.

Musa Mseleku
The renowned businessman was born for the spotlight, and he has never really had what most people would call a "small" job. He started out his career as a journalist with Durban Youth Radio, and was introduced to the public eye early on.
He became famous because of the reality show Uthando Nesthembu, and has since clung to the top through his business ventures.

Kelly Khumalo
Kelly probably sang her way into the world, as that is where she began. She would sing on a small scale, and it wasn't until she participated in a gospel singing competition that her talent was spotted.
She has since risen to fame for her golden voice, and is even known in South Africa as the voice of Africa, and her vocal highness.
