Samkelo who now goes by Samú in the music scene announced a day ago that she is in the studio with the Kwaito legend Spikiri.
She said, "So I got to make a kwaito jam with Spikiri @spikiri_mandla_reloaded himself the King Don Father 💃🏾 I can’t wait for you to hear this soon"
Mzansi seems to be very pleased with this one. This is how people reacted:
@liopelo_maphathe said, "@samkelondlovu spikirikiwiki🔥🔥can’t wait for this jam"
@nashy_kumkanikazi said, "I can’t wait to hear it Mpondomisekazi....Jah Bless Queen"
Samkelo has been a very busy woman judging from her Instagram stories. She has also been working with DJ Maphorisa for what we assume will also be another banger.
She said, "Amazing musical things are happening❤️🎤🎶 like being on a @djmaphorisa song featuring Madumane and being featured by Sizwe Alakine on a @tylericu song🎶🎤💃🏾"
Samu also gave us a snippet of her new Afro-Fusion song that will drop soon.
We hope this new music is a step in the right direction for the mommy of one. You will remember that when she released her yanos song, Intoyami last year December, some people did not vibe that much with it and for a second, it seemed as though her music career was taking a totally different direction form the one she envisioned for herself.
This song and the performances Samkelo gave to promote the song received a lot of hate on Twitter. Some of the reactions were:
"Samkelo owes Nomuzi an apology BUT we need to criticize her so she can improve we need to support female artist more"
"This is embarrassing bro, people are just going on about their lives, no engagement whatsoever. She thought the boobs were gonna help her. Shame poor Samkelo"
"#Samkelo needs to get rid of all her friends, if she has one. They lied to her."
Seeing the bad publicity her song and performances were getting, Samkelo took to Twitter to tell the haters where to get off.
"Anyway, goodnightini guyzini Face throwing a kiss- cowards always speak the loudest when a brave person takes a step forward. I’m going to continue in pursuit of my dreams. What will always be known is that I love music/singing and that I won’t let anybody convince me to cower out of it"
Some people are still in Samkelo's corner and we can only hope that the reception of the new music she is working will be better and will get people to finally take her music career seriously.
"Goodnight. Keep on doing you and highly inspiring me and others out there. Amaphupho afezeke, ngale kokuthi abantu bazothini."
While Samkelo continues to make strides in her music career, she also continues to make even more strides in her acting career. The movie she filmed when she was 6 months pregnant with her daughter is finally available to rent on Box office.
The movie FREEDOM stars Jafta Mamabolo, Nicole Mathope, Jefferey Sekele, Mam’ Mary Twala, Kenneth Nkosi, Samkelo Ndlovu and Mandla Gaduka.
